Why everyone goes for a home makeover only on diwali and not on 15 August? Does the rebirth of our country is not a big reason to celebrate this day? 2. Home décor- Imitate three colors of flag in a harmonious manner throughout the living space. Curtains, bed sheets or table cloth, update all in tricolor for the right mood. Green can also be welcomed by using plants in terracotta pots. You can paint these pots too with white or orange. Don’t forget to add a hint of blue through cushion covers which signifies Ashoka Chakra. Lastly, brighten up all with diyas and candles. And for the pleasant aura, switch to natural aromas of mogra or jasmine.
   
   
3. Cuisine- With the saffron-white theme in mind, prepare dishes which can do full justice to it. You could make a delicious biryani and raita for the rapid, easy main course. And in the desert, you have options like frozen pastries, muffins and fruit tarts. Place green, white or red topping over them otherwise, our own traditional kheer with kesar on the top would say it all.
   
   
4. Movie time- If you want the entertainment on its peak, then get some good collection of DVDs. A perfect celebration is where your guests don’t feel bored or lost. So, make sure Hollywood or bollywood whatever stuff you are choosing is not a pain for others. You need not to stick to freedom fighter stories. The genre could go anywhere from comedy, nationalistic, action to horror.
   
   
5. Return Gifts- This is the last yet important effort which you must definitely make. Here, you can take the help of postman for giving you stamps of varied Indian regions. Else, you can give creative or personalized fashion bags to the guests arrived. If not, to any gift with a saffron cellophane packaging you can leave a mark.
