Whether the style of your dining
room is formal or casual, table runners can help both the ways. They add color,
texture and unifying element to the tables and make them stand out in the
entire setting. Their main function is to give a tinge of elegance and bring a
sense of tradition in any occasion. Plain, embroidered or printed, in various
forms table runners are present at homebyfreedom to make your supper time even
more graceful.
Some rules need to be followed
while using a table runner. Firstly, it should be one-third the width of the
table. Secondly, place it on the top of the tablecloth directly down the centre
of the table. A drop of up to 15 inches is enough to bring out that wow factor.
If you have any centerpiece, place it right onto the table runner. In case of
two or more décor accessories, place them at equal distances in a straight line
on the runner. If you don’t have any such thing, then still you can exude some
creativity. Use two or more runners across the width of the table; it will give
the setting an urbane look.
For informal setting, even a
shorter length runner, around one-third of the width of table can work out.
Place it in the centre of the table and then keep a beautiful centerpiece on it
to add a textural element. Table runner can be used without a table cloth also;
it will underline the splendor of table. For woody tables, use runners
airbrushed with bold pastels where as for glass tops those with soft hues are
more suitable. Else, you can use printed runners over plain table cloths and
vice versa to set a synchronized ambiance. For round tables, use two runners in
an X formation. This setting will leave enough space for people in each section
and will look engaging at the same time.
